When an international conflict – like, say, the Israel-Palestinian conflict – is extremely politically and religiously charged, what’s a leader to do? How does a leader even begin going about trying to solve a conflict like that?
Here’s the answer. Two words: George Costanza.
Seriously. According to the Associated Press, Jason Alexander, famous for portraying the rotund neurotic on NBC’s super-hit Seinfeld back in the glory days of the 1990s, was invited to meet with Israeli President Shimon Peres for, I shit you not, his advice on solving the long-standing conflict in the Middle East.
All kidding aside – well, kind of – Alexander hopes to use comedy as a community builder, to promote the idea that the two states can exist for two people. Perhaps there’s something to solving international crises through the guy whose historical knowledge centers on “the Moops.”
