By now you know that Community star Donald Glover is pretty freakin’ talented. He’s a multifaceted entertainer who, in addition to his television work, has excelled at sketch comedy with his troupe Derrick Comedy, and has gained prominence as a stand up comic. But while Glover keeps you laughing, his hip-hop alter ego, Childish Gambino, gets you dancing, or if you’re like me, awkwardly nodding your head. So just in time for Halloween, Childish Gambino releases the seriously spooky video for “Bonfire,” the first single off his newest music album Camp.
The video is directed by Derrick Comedy’s feature film Mystery Team director Dan Eckman and features comedian Baron Vaughn talking around the titular bonfire. The clip isn’t funny, but does offer a pretty cool narrative with a twist and more importantly, name checking it will help gain you some points in the “looking like you’re cool” game.
