Yesterday we posted about Donald Trump calling Jon Stewart a racist based on a bit he did about Herman Cain. You can check that out here. Last night on the Daily Show, Stewart responded. Stewart, in part, said:
I’ve taken criticism before. I’ve been called racist, stupid, an asshole. It goes with being a dick for a living. It’s an occupational hazard. But this one hurts, because of how much I respect Donald Trump. He’s a sophisticated man. Did you know he eats pizza with a fork? And as to the charges of whether I was being racist— it turns out Donald Trump is in a unique position to judge me.
And then Stewart tosses to an audio clip, wherein Trump is heard on talk radio — 1300 AM in Albany on April 14 — saying, “I have a great relationship with the blacks. I’ve always had a great relationship with the blacks.”
And that statement led to Stewart and co. — Samantha Bee, Wyatt Cenac and John Oliver — to pick apart Trump and eventually Ann Coulter’s seemingly objectifying tone they utilize when talking about “their blacks.” The conversation quickly moved to other minorities as well as women. The highlight is when Bee uses Coulter as the basis for all Republican women: “Conservative women are so much better—all sharp-tongued and mean spirited, with their stringy blonde hair and their bony arms and legs. They’re like super sexy political tarantulas.”
