Absolutely Fabulous is coming back! Again! The cult-favorite British sitcom—which originally ran from 1992–1995, then from 2001–2003—will celebrate its 20th anniversary with three new television specials. And if everything goes according to plan, the specials will be followed by the very first AbFab movie, which creator and star Jennifer Saunders plans to write next year.
The plot of the movie will open with perpetually booze-soaked main characters Patsy and Edina waking up hungover and stranded on a yacht with no cell-phone service.
AbFab was a staple of Comedy Central’s broadcast schedule in the network’s during the mid ‘90s. It has also been seen in the States on PBS, BBC America, Oxygen and Logo, so its cult audience is wide and varied. We imagined this news will satisfy the legions who have been clamoring for more drunken and debauched AbFab goodness.
