We hope this week’s SNL isn’t as painful as these promos with Jason Segel and Vanessa Bayer

The last few episodes of Saturday Night Live have been fairly solid. And we’re looking forward to this week’s, which features host Jason Segel, who’s pushing his movie The Muppets. We’ll assume that these painful-to-watch promos with Segel and Vanessa Bayer are no indication of the quality of Saturday’s show.

“painful” is a bit strong if you ask me.

I don’t think it’s strong enough. Kristen Wiig and Nasim Pedred are the only funny female cast members. Abby Elliott and Vanessa Bayer are stiff and weak character actresses. I can only assume Abby is on as a favor to dad Chris, or because she’s banging Fred Armison.

I’m glad Casey Wilson was cast in a show with greater ratings and better writing, after being fired for being funnier than both of the aforementioned ‘comedians’ listed.
