You don’t have to like Nickelback to appreciate the video they just made for Funny or Die. In it, the band (with the help of Paul Scheer) tries to figure out why everyone in Detroit is so pissed off about their upcoming performance at the Lions game on Thanksgiving. With the help of Scheer they try to figure out what the reasons could be … everything from starting hotel fires to banging goats to being Canadian.
Ultimately, they try to rebrand themselves as something more Detroit-like and damn it, you guys, Nickelback has a great sense of humor. They get that people don’t like them and they don’t take themselves seriously. So I will never buy one of their albums, I will never see them in concert, but I give them props. Good for you, Nickelback … I hope you don’t get shamed out of Detroit on Thursday.
