Remember when Louis C.K. popped up on Parks and Recreation for a bunch of episodes in 2009? Well, he’s coming back to reprise his role as a Pawnee police officer and love interest to Amy Poehler’s manic character Leslie Knope. C.K.’s character Dave Sanderson will first appear in an episode early next year, TV Line reports.
The news comes in the middle of an already-stellar season that has centered around Knope’s political campaign, wherein she hopes to win a spot on the city council. At the start of the season, Knope realizes that she has to break up with her secret boyfriend Ben (Adam Scott) to avoid any public scandal. She’s his boss, after all. However, in the most recent episode, Leslie and Ben kiss and pledge to try to make their relationship work– regardless of how it may effect her political future. The re-introduction of C.K.’s character (that’s him to the right) could only complicate the pair’s rekindled romance.
Other past Parks and Rec guest stars include Parker Posey, Will Arnett, Fred Armisen and Megan Mullally.
And don’t worry, comedy fans. C.K.’s show Louie is still set to come back for a third season on FX. All of the Parks and Rec filming will be done before his Emmy-nominated show starts up production again.
