On Oct. 26, some of Patrice O’Neal’s closest friends gathered together on the Opie and Anthony Show on SiriusXM to announce the sad news the veteran comedian had suffered a stroke and was in bad shape. Today, we heard what we never wanted to hear– O’Neal has passed away at the age of 41.
Ever since the news broke, O’Neal’s name — always thought of as a comic’s comic but certainly not on top of the mainstream — has been trending on Twitter. And if you tune in to SiriusXM right now, you’ll hear that the Ron and Fez Show has dedicated this afternoon’s programming to honoring the late comedian. Dozens of listeners have already called in with their personal dedications.
Read an interview I did with Patrice earlier this year.
A few years ago, I sat down with Patrice to interview him on video. I wanted to show that to you guys now, if you haven’t already seen it. What you’re about to watch is totally uncut and unedited. It’s not polished at all, but it gives you a great look inside Patrice.
