A handful of comedy stars, featuring the likes of Ed Helms, Margaret Cho, Nick Offerman and Mo’Nique, will be featured on the Sundance Channel’s new interview series The Mortified Sessions.
But there’s a simple, yet innovative spin on these celebrity chats. In each 30-minute episode of the 10-part series, host David Nadelberg presents an artifact from the star’s distant past — think diary entries or goofy childhood photos — and uses it as a catalyst to delve deep into each subject’s psyche. The idea is based on Nadelberg’s live storytelling series of similar ilk as well as his Mortified book series from the 1990s.
The series kicked off yesterday, but you can catch episodes every night on the Sundance Channel. Tonight, Ed Helms and Mo’Nique are Nadelberg’s guests. You can check out the show’s full schedule here. Upcoming guests will include Megan Mullally, Modern Family‘s Eric Stonestreet, Curb Your Enthusiasm and now Suburgatory‘s Cheryl Hines and Saturday Night Live alum Will Forte, who appears in the preview video below.
