Multi-tasking Office star Mindy Kaling is set to write and lend her voice to a new animated comedy series for NBC. It’s part of a deal that centers around Greg Daniels – executive producer of The Office and Parks and Recreation – joining forces with Kaling and Alan Yang (a producer on the latter show) to launch a pair of new animated shows.
Details on each project are sparse, but Deadline reports that Kaling’s show centers around a girls high school volleyball team while Yang’s project is about “a group of 20-something guys sharing a house in Los Angeles’ upscale community of Hancock Park.”
Daniels is credited for co-creating Fox’s longtime animated hit King of the Hill.
