Comedian Michael Showalter has inked a deal with Fox to develop a new sitcom for the television network. The Stella co-founder is working with Christina Lee (she worked with Showalter on he and Michael Ian Black’s Comedy Central show, Michael and Michael Have Issues) to executive produce I Hate Your Friends, which follows an in-love couple who meet their significant others’ friends and start to question whether they’ve chosen the right companion.

Earlier this year, the multi-talented comedian released his first book, Mr. Funny Pants (read our interview here). He also starred in a series of commercials for the new Toyota Yaris (see below). Showalter also put out a stand-up comedy album Sandwiches & Cats in 2007. Congrats, Michael!
