As one can clearly see from the trailer of Wes Anderson’s latest film Moonrise Kingdom, not much has changed in the realm of all things Wes Anderson. There are still plenty of cool, well-respected, famous actors (Edward Norton, Jason Schwartzman, Frances McDormand), there’s still an off-kilter setting with off-kilter characters (a summer camp in 1965 filled with children that fall in love and run away together), and, of course, there’s still Bill Murray. No matter how obvious the trademark hipness of Anderson lights up in Moonrise Kingdom, it’s good to see the blogosphere excited about something (Wes Anderson trended on Twitter recently because of the trailer) instead of continuing to bash We Bought A Zoo.
