This past Thursday, FX debuted their all new animated comedy Unsupervised. Helmed by writers and producers of the network’s hit show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the series follows the lives of two optimistic teenage boys, Gary and Joel, trying to make it through typical high school life without the guidance or supervision of adults.

Gary was left by his father many years ago to stay with his absentee step mother while Joel has elderly parents who are rarely in the picture. The happy-go-lucky best friends manage to make it through, depending on each other for the support and guidance they aren’t getting from the adults in their lives.

Unsupervised voice cast includes the likes of Justin Long, Kristen Bell, Fred Armisen, Kaitlin Olson and Alexa Vega, as well as creators Rob Rosell and David Hornsby.

The second episode airs this Thursday at 10:30 pm. And you can check out a clip below!

The pilot episode didn’t blow me away, but I really like where this show is headed. The voice talent is great and I’ve laughed quite a bit through just about every episode, especially Field of Dreams…and Dogs, that’s probably been my favorite so far. In fact, I actually just watched it again on this streaming site set up by my employer, DISH, called dishonline(dot)com. It’s a really convenient site, completely free, and a lot of the shows on there are even available to non-DISH customers. I definitely recommend checking it out.
