The Comedy Central Presents half-hour special was a staple goal for many stand-up comedians. It helped bring now popular comedians, such as Dane Cook, Jim Gaffigan and Mitch Hedberg, into the mainstream. Comedy Central did not order a new season of Presents for 2012, but it will be reborn as a new series of stand-up specials called, The Half Hour. And a dozen great comics will tape specials for the inaugural season next week. We’re excited to see half-hours from the following:

If you live in Boston, or the surrounding area, Comedy Central is looking for audience members for the tapings next week, February 28th-March 1st, at The Royale on Tremont St. There will be two shows a night, each featuring two comedians.
