Since its debut in November of 2010, Conan has re-energized thousands of late-night comedy fans who were exhausted and disillusioned from the whole Jay Leno debacle. And Conan O’Brien’s network has noticed. TBS announced this morning that Conan has been renewed through 2014. “I am excited to continue my run with TBS because they have been fantastic partners. This means I’ll be taping episodes of Conan well into the Ron Paul presidency,” O’Brien says.
The show averages 1.1 million viewers each night, which doesn’t exactly amount to huge ratings. However, like a handful of other forward-thinking comedy outfits (see Community), an increasing number of young viewers are watching full episodes online. And in Conan‘s case, a lot of those viewers are enjoying bonus clips and original features on the official Team Coco website.
To celebrate, let’s check out O’Brien’s monologue from last night. Enjoy!
