Real life couple Olivia Wilde and Saturday Night Live funny man Jason Sudeikis have signed on to costar in a new relationship comedy entitled Relanxious, directed by writer Christopher Storer. Joined by Brie Larson and fellow SNL cast member and co-star of Portlandia Fred Armisen. The film will begin filming this summer in Chicago, reports Deadline.
The movie is centered around two people who, despite some unusual fears and issues, fall in love. Barrett, played by Wilde, is a woman with extreme anxiety while George, played by Sudeikis, is agoraphobic. After meeting, their relationship develops through a series of phone conversations discussing the dates they would go on if they were a bit more, er, traditional. Eventually, the pair must decide if they’re willing to let their issues stand in the way of a face-to-face relationship.
Opinion: While Wilde and Sudeikis have yet to see any major success with their film careers over the past few years, they’re both likeable actors. And while the title leaves something to be desired, and probably will hardly be pronounced properly, the concept does sound like it could end up being pretty cute. Also, having Armisen in the supporting cast with the success of Portlandia this year can’t hurt on the business end of things.
