I challenge anyone reading this to find a single human being who does not love Tina Fey or Paul Rudd. Over the years, these two have secured their places deep inside every comedy fans’ heart– Tina, as an accomplished writer, producer and kick-ass women’s role model; Paul Rudd– as a member of the Wet Hot American Summer crew and countless other comedy flicks– not to mention his appearances on late-night chat shows.
So if the two team up for a movie, expectations will be high. And it might happen, folks. The LA Times reports Fey and Rudd are set to co-star in a big screen comedy called Admission, centered around Fey’s character– an unmarried college admissions counselor in her 40s who meets up with Rudd’s character, a guy she went to high school, though never really knew. “It turns out he’s been harboring thoughts about her, and possibly a secret as well,” says the LA Times.
Owen Wilson was originally eying the male lead, but the movie’s brass is now out to secure Rudd, who’s said to be super interested in the part, according to the report. Behind the movie is Focus Features and writer/director Paul Weitz, known for his work on American Pie and About A Boy. Shooting will likely begin in May after 30 Rock wraps on NBC.
