It’s not anyone thought it wouldn’t happen, but it’s nice get the official word from the suits in charge: The Hangover Part III is happening, for sure, and the entire Wolfpack is back. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis will become Phil, Stu and Alan for the third time. And not surprisingly, Todd Phillips is back in the director’s chair.
In an announcement this morning, Warner Bros revealed the movie will be released in theaters on May 24 of next year, with production starting this September. There’s no word yet on where the film will shoot. In the previous Hangover, the boys found themselves in Thailand. And apparently, three times is enough. This will be the last flick in the franchise. “I’m so excited to embark on another ‘Hangover’ film with Bradley, Ed and Zach,” Phillips says. “We’re going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions.”
