Late night master Jimmy Kimmel will take the stage at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sept. 23 to host the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards. While this won’t be the comedian’s first time hosting an awards show (he’s previously hosted the American Music Awards and the ESPY awards) this will be the largest hosting gig to date.
Kimmel follows a string of successful hosts over the past few years including Jane Lynch, Jimmy Fallon and Neil Patrick Harris who all MC’d what’s considered one of the most important nights in television. “I hope to be able to do for the Emmys this year what Eddie Murphy did for the Oscars,” Kimmel said in a statement, referring to Murphy’s brief time as the planned host of this past Academy Awards, before he bowed out.
So what do you all think of this year’s choice? Will you tune in to see Kimmel?
