After months of watching those horrible Febreze commercials, wherein unsuspecting “real” people are blindfolded and led into what we’re supposed to believe is a really smelly room (illustrated by clutter and such) and asked what it is they smell (they smell the heavens because the horrible mess has been Febrezed!), I thought to myself: why is it not one comedian, or sketch group has thought to parody the living shit out of this? And so on March 2, I tweeted this:

As it it turns out, a parody JUST like the one I was dreaming about was already in the works. And today, it’s here. Written by Chicago comedian, actress and improviser Kate Lambert, the spoof ad titled “Why You Don’t Let Strangers Blindfold You” follows a handful of test subjects as they’re lured into messy, smelly rooms. Except with this commercial, the ending is so much more satisfying. Suck it, Febreze. I’m going to use Lebreze!
