Hot on the heels of his record-breaking 10-award take at the Razzies (that’s a bad thing), it’s been announced that Adam Sandler and his Happy Madison movie-making machine will remake the 1987 comedy classic Summer School.

The original film was directed by comedy legend Carl Reiner (you know, they guy who brought us Steve Martin in The Jerk) and starred the likes of Courtney Thorne-Smith, Shawnee Smith (I had the biggest crush on her during her Becker days), Kirstie Alley and Mark Harmon— who played the apathetic gym teacher forced into teaching English to a bunch of fuck-ups over the summer.

Though Happy Madison is set to take control and begin hiring writers, Sandler is not expected to star, according to the Hollywood Reporter, who adds the film has been stuck in development for five years. You can watch the original Summer School trailer below.
