Watch Jimmy Kimmel and Barack Obama be equally funny at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

As you all know, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner went down this past Saturday in Washington D.C. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a yearly event, wherein politicians, jounrnalists, celebrities and quasi-celebrities sit in a huge room and eat and drink free food. Also, it’s when a comedian type delivers what amounts to an almagamation of a stand-up, late-night chat show monologue and roast speech.

This year, the honor went to Jimmy Kimmel— and in my humble opinion, he did an excellent job. My only gripe is that, at times, it seemed like he paced a few jokes too quickly and often didn’t allow time for the audience to react properly. Although, his performance lasted almost 25 minutes, so perhaps be was trying to keep things moving.

Before Kimmel took to the podium, the President did his own version of late-night comedy shtick— as is tradition. As expected Obama came off genuinely funny. His delivery was excellent, his targets were appropriate and he even made wife Michelle cringe a few times. If he doesn’t get elected for a second term, this dude will have no shortage of high-profile show business opportunities.
