Early in the pilot process, NBC may have passed on Mindy Kaling’s new sitcom, It’s Messy but over at Fox, the pilot’s a favorite. The network has greenlit the show for the Fall. At this point, the show has the potential to be a companion for Fox’s freshman hit, New Girl.

The single-camera comedy, It’s Messy, follows a young OB/GYN, played by Kaling, as she balances both her personal and professional life. The Office actress created the series and serves as executive producer, along with Office co-star, BJ Novak (both will leave The Office). The script is popular among critics and insiders. If the show becomes a hit, maybe NBC will regret snubbing Kaling.

Fox has also picked up Ben & Kate, which stars Nat Faxon as Ben Fox, quasi-hippie type who shacks up with his annoyingly straight and narrow sister; and The Goodwin Games will also come to Fox. The show stars Scott Foley (remember him from Felicity?) and former Ugly Betty star Becki Newton. The story centers around a family who’s father leaves them a huge fortune. The catch, however, is that they can only access the bucks if they follow good old dad’s conditions. Sounds like Brewster’s Millions!

So, what do you guys think of Fox’s newest comedies?
