Wanda Sykes: I didn’t sleep for a week after my first comedy show (Video)

Comedian and star of the upcoming The Hot Flashes Wanda Sykes will appear on the PBS series Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. this Sunday to trace her genealogy back through the centuries. Sykes also takes the show to the roots of her stand-up career. Watch the preview below, where she recalls a major fail from her early days.

Filmed on location across the United States, the 10-part series airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on PBS. With leading genealogists from across the U.S., Gates and his production team uncover family histories unknown to his guests, which have included the likes of Kevin Bacon, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Margaret Cho, among others.
