This can only end amazingly. Bridesmaids standout and star of CBS hit Mike & Molly Melissa McCarthy and Oscar winning actress Sandra Bullock have signed on to co-star in a comedy flick, wherein the two will play a Boston cop and an FBI agent, respectively. The conflict comes, naturally, because McCarthy’s character is what you’d consider nontraditional while Bullock’s agent is high strung.
It gets better: Bridesmaids director Paul Feig will direct the as-of-yet-untitled flick and Katie Dippold — known for her stellar work on NBC’s Parks and Recreation — is writing the screenplay. Feig has also signed on to executive produce. Given the star-power and talent involved in this flick, I can’t imagine this won’t be both a box office and creative success. And, remember, this is only the beginning of casting. I’m sure we’ll hear in the next few weeks about an excellent supporting cast.
