Comedian, writer, and stand-up comic J.B. Smoove will host the newest Hollywood awards show to be televised– The CLIOS: World’s Best Commercials.

Smoove is best known for his role, alongside Larry David, as Leon Black on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. In recent years, however, the comedian has established himself as a nationally headlining comedian, having landed his own Comedy Central hour special That’s How I Dooz It and another show on the network, Russell Simmons Presents: The Ruckus, which Smoove hosted.

Some of the commercials nominated for CLIOS star the likes of Jason Bateman, Kevin Bacon, Will Arnett, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. And Smoove’s brash comedy style and natural knack for commanding the stage should definitely translate well into hosting. The one-hour special airs Wednesday, July 25 from 8-9 pm EST on NBC.
