Woody Allen announced today that he has cast two legends of comedy past and present — Andrew Dice Clay and Louis CK — in his next film. Not much is known about the project yet, aside from the cast, which also includes Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Emerson, Sally Hawkins and Peter Sarsgaard, but we do know the film is set to begin shooting soon in New York and San Francisco.
This is exciting news for both comedians as well as their fans as neither are particularly known for their film roles, although they’ve been able to show off their acting chops on recent television appearances. Clay had a recurring role on the most recent season of Entourage last year and Louis (whose work on Louie has been earning him a lot of comparisons to Allen lately) had an arc in season two of Parks and Recreation, in a role which he reprised for an episode in the most recent fourth season. We can’t wait to see where Louis and Dice fit in amongst the rest of that cast!
Allen’s next film To Rome With Love opens on June 22.
