This summer, Sundance offers us a dose of sex jokes to make us giggle and blush via For a Good Time, Call…. Co-writer Lauren Anne Miller stars alongside Ari Graynor (above) in this fun and sexy comedy about phone sex and unexpected friendship.
The straight-laced, reserved Lauren (Miller) moves into an incredible but hardly-affordable New York City apartment with the free-spirited Katie (Graynor) — offering a classic Odd Couple comedy setup. Lauren learns that Katie is running a phone-sex operation out of the apartment, and, while at first disgusted, sees a great business opportunity when she finds herself low on funds. As their business partnership takes off, their friendship inevitably grows, paving the way for raunchy comedy adventures and fun sex jokes. If it weren’t already predictable, the trailer (it seems) gives away most of the story — even a surprise guest appearance by Seth Rogen — but this film does offer just the right mix of sassy, smart, and goofy that a lighthearted summer comedy needs.
