Late last month, we told you that for the first time ever, a bunch of Steve Martin’s classic stand-up comedy specials would be available on DVD. Well, that’s still true. And although you’ll have to wait until Sept. 18 to get your grubby hands on said DVDs, today Warner Bros. gifted the world with a super cool vintage video of the man, himself.

It turns out that back in the day, in order to help sell records, artists would star in promotional videos, which were distributed to retailers in order to hype the product. Below, you’ll find Martin in 1978 hilariously pushing his now-iconic album Wild and Crazy Guy. If you’re a lover of vinyl, I have a feeling you’ll cringe at some of the things Martin does to his album. Enjoy!
