Dane Cook will play ex-Nazi playwright in ‘The Producers’

Nabbing a role as the quick tempered ex-Nazi playright, Franz Liebkind is certainly a way to make waves in the theater universe. And that’s what Dane Cook is doing! The divisive comedian will make his theater debut in the Hollywood Bowl’s production of The Producers, joining cast members Richard Kind as Max Bialystock, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Leo Bloom, Roger Bart as Carmen Ghia, Gary Beach as Roger De Bris and Rebecca Romjin as Ulla. The play will run from July 27 through July 29.

If this isn’t a one-time thing for Cook, I’d like to make a request. Can you do a production of Cats next? I think the ears would look great on you, Dane.
