In case you were wondering just how popular, powerful and wanted comedian Kevin Hart is in Hollywood, allow us to submit this piece of information. Screen Gems is developing a remake of About Last Night, the 1986 comedy flick which starred Demi Moore and Rob Lowe. But the Sony Pictures subsidiary is in such early stages, it hasn’t even been decided who will direct the thing or who will embody the parts once occupied by Moore and Lowe. They do, however, know they want Hart to play the lead actor’s best friend, which was played by Jim Belushi in the original.
The film, based on David Mamet’s play Sexual Perversity In Chicago, follows the love affair of a man and woman flecked with personal problems as well as the disapproval of friends. Besides Hart, the only other sure thing is Leslye Headland, who’s been tapped to write the screenplay. This bodes well for the films success, as Headland’s latest project, Bachelorette (starring Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan and Rebel Wilson) was a hit at this year’s Sundance film festival.
