Last month Ricky Gervais gave the comedy world an update on the future of his current television projects. In short – The Ricky Gervais Show is ending, as well as An Idiot Abroad (but we’ll be getting two more specials first). He and best pal Stephen Merchant are writing a special to wrap up Life’s Too Short, and we’re getting a full six-episode season of Derek.

Today, Gervais announced that he finished editing the pilot of the previously unannounced Learn English with Ricky Gervais. Ricky says it’s an “Internet project,” and the first episode will be available for free. After that, he might charge a small fee or get it sponsored. And most importantly, unlikely comedy treasure and Ricky’s longtime punching bag Karl Pilkington is in on the project. The very thought of someone learning English from Pilkington is really, really funny and this show probably will be too. No word on when we can expect it to premiere yet.
