Former ‘Community’ showrunner Dan Harmon inks deal with CBS

Although Dan Harmon’s firing from NBC’s Community was a real shit show, Harmon’s got two script deals under his belt now– a previously announced deal with Fox and now a new one with CBS. There’s not much solidified in terms of what either scripts are going to be about but networks have been after Harmon and his ability to cultivate cult-like audiences (Community, The Sarah Silverman Program) since NBC freed him up.

Both projects, according to Deadline, so far are multi-camera, unlike Harmon’s previous projects which have been single camera. The scripts, as a result, will probably be sitcoms. In addition to these script deals, Harmon has an animated pilot called Rick & Morty in development at Adult Swim.

So is there anyone Dan Harmon hasn’t inked deals with? I can’t imagine he’s gonna have any more creative control at Fox or CBS then he did at NBC. Harmon should focus on his adult swim show if he’s serious about making “His” show.
