When a hot, white, French woman calls, you pick up the phone. That’s Chris Rock’s policy when it comes to choosing movie projects. At least, that’s what he told Jon Stewart on last night’s Daily Show. The comedian was there to promote his new flick 2 Days in New York (watch the trailer here), which Delpy (the woman in question) wrote and directed. It opens in theaters tomorrow.
But the pair of old friends also got to talking about stand-up. Rock says he’s trying to work on new material, buyt he’s finding more challenging than usual. “It’s hard to go to the clubs, because people tape your shit all the time—like, before it’s ready,” Rock explains. “I don’t mind if I’m at Madison Square Garden and you want tape me. But I’m at the Cellar working on a bit and it ain’t ready and then it’s YouTube.”
