Kevin Hart can’t be stopped. His most recent special Laugh at My Pain is among the top 10 highest selling comedy concert films in history, in November he’ll become one of only seven comedians to headline at Madison Square Garden, and just announced today, he’s set to host this year’s Video Music Awards on MTV.
“This is huge. Wait, this is bigger than huge. This is bigger than what’s bigger than huge.” says Hart. “I’m overwhelmed with excitement. Shit is about to get real.”
Hart should be a good fit for the gig, seeing as how he’s not entirely new to the VMAs stage or hosting in general. Hart performed at last year’s VMAs and also hosted the 2011 BET Awards, and the comedian got a positive response for both. The VMAs will air Thursday, Sept. 6 at 8 pm EST.
