You’ve spent years loathing Nickelback– and for good reason. In short, they represent everything that’s wrong with contemporary rock music: trite, earnest, pandering. Lame. But now, they go and do this. They cast Seinfeld alum Jason Alexander in a new video for their song “Trying Not to Love You” alongside former Baywatch star Brooke Burns in what ultimately becomes a purposely absurd, and genuinely funny short film. The video’s only downfall, of course, is the music.

And by the way, this isn’t the first time Nickelback has used humor to disarm their hordes of haters. Last November, they made the below Funny or Die video starring Paul Scheer in response to the circulation of an online petition to fire the band from performing during halftime at the Super Bowl.

This made my day. I kinda wish there was a show just about evil baristo Jason Alexander though.
