Comedian Steve Byrne’s well-received TBS sitcom Sullivan & Son has been re-upped for a second season. Averaging more than 2.5 million viewers every Thursday at 10 pm ET, it seemed a no-brainer for the comedy-centric cable network to allow for a sophomore season.

Along with Byrne’s semi-autobiographical character – an attorney who returns to his home in Pittsburgh to run his family’s pub – the stand-up is joined by bellow comedians Owen Benjamin, Roy Wood Jr. and Brian Scolaro as well Brian Doyle-Murray, Christine Ebersole, Jodi Long, Valerie Azlynn, Dan Lauria and Vivian Bang. Vince Vaughn and good friend Peter Billingsley are the show’s executive producers.

Check out an alternate scene from the first season, which is still airing on TBS.

I was surprised how much I like this show. It’s a throwback to “Cheers,” of course, but it’s a really funny ensemble cast with lots of dirty humor. What’s not to love?
