In the world of entertainment and especially comedy, nine years is a long time to be married. Still, it’s super sad to hear that one of comedy’s real-life favorite couples Amy Poehler and Will Arnett are splitting up.

A rep for Arnett and Poehler confirmed the news, saying “It’s very amicable.” The couple have two children — Archie, 3, and Abel, 2 — and have appeared together on the big and small screen; Arrested Development, Monsters vs. Aliens and Blades of Glory are a few of their co-starring credits.

Poehler of course is the the star and co-producer of NBC’s Parks and Recreation, which returns Thursday, Sept. 20; she’s also been working on David Wain’s new movie They Came Together with Paul Rudd (who had a multi-episode arc on Parks last season). Arnett stars opposite Christina Applegate on Up All Night, which debuts its second season on the same night, also on NBC. Arnett is also currently shooting the long-awaited new season of Arrested Development.

We wish Amy and Will the best and look forward to seeing them on television this Fall. For now, let’s check out the pair’s hilarious appearance on the Emmys red carpet from almost exactly a year ago.
