Ricky Gervais is just like an alcoholic, except with work. In addition to starring in and producing a seemingly countless number of television and Internet projects, the British comedian has just launched an iPhone application— but it’s not the typical self-promotional comedian app. This is a real-deal, entrepreneurial move for the comedian.

It seems Gervais has long been interested in marrying human voice to social media, which is why he partnered with tech company CloudTalk and David Hayden to create Just Sayin’. The free app gives users the power to broadcast voice and video – video doesn’t work if you have an iPhone 3G or older – in addition to photos and text to their Twitter and Facebook pages.

“Making the human voice a natural part of any social web experience is the next big thing,” says Gervais about the app, which is currently compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. “Voice as a monologue is narcissistic, voice as a dialogue is social; social media is a place where people desire to be both.”

The list of features, per the iTunes store, goes like this:

-Share your voice
-Post any combination of audio, text, photos, video
-One-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-many conversations
-Cross-post to your Facebook friends and Twitter followers
-Discover and follow the growing just sayin’ Community
-Talk with and follow your favorite celebrity, musician, politician, athlete and more
-Get real-time notifications when someone you are following posts or replies to one of your posts

So, get to downloading and tell us what you think of Gervais’ new endeavor!
