I hate Summer. I’m glad it’s done. Also, I hate the Winter. I kind of like the Spring, but what I really love is Fall. Yes, the three days of mild, pleasantly breezy, leaves-in-the-wind days we get here in the Northeast are truly my favorite. And with Fall, comes not just light-jacket weather and the start of the new television season, but more importantly it means The Simpsons‘ annual Halloween episode is almost upon us. This year’s episode, Treehouse Of Horror XXIII goes down Oct. 7 at 8 pm ET on Fox. And as is customary, the network has released a big, bad motion picture-themed poster, which you can peep below.
Three stories will be told during the Halloween episode. In the first, “The Greatest Story Ever Holed,” Fox explains that “the Springfield Subatomic Supercollider creates a black hole that terrorizes the city, sucking up everything in its path.” In “UNnormal Activity,” our favorite yellow family “installs cameras all over the house when things start to go bump in the night and Marge discovers it may have to do with an unholy pact she made some years prior. ” And finally, in “Bart & Homer’s Excellent Adventure,” we find Bart living in 1974 “to buy a comic book at cover price but inadvertently disrupts Homer and Marge’s courtship, leading Marge to end up with Artie Ziff (Jon Lovitz). We’re looking forward to it!
