Will Ferrell, along with his cohorts at Gary Sanchez Productions (Adam McKay, Kevin Messick and Chris Henchy) have signed on to develop a television series based around the aftermath of a ménage à trois. Specifically, according to the Hollywood Reporter, “the project is centered around the high jinks that ensue before and after a threesome make a connection.” The would-be series comes from writer and actress Leah Rachel, who will pen the script for Universal; no network is attached yet. Rachel was most recently seen on the Web series Dating Rules from My Future Self, produced by Alloy, the folks who brought us Gossip Girl.
Rachel is a bit of a rising star in the comedy world, having sold a feature-length screenplay to Mandate Pictures at the end of last year. The film, The Young, the Hot and the Bothered is being produced by Oscar-winning Dan Jinks, best known for his work on American Beauty, Big Fish and Milk. Before that, she a pilot to HBO called Starfucker, which boasts Mark Wahlberg as a co-producer. She also sold a single-camera comedy pilot to ABC, titled BAMFS. All of this, and Rachel’s only 26 years old.
