He may play a bumbling dad on Modern Family, ABC’s flagship comedy, but Ty Burrell is no slouch in real life. The Emmy-winning actor just landed another ABC deal, which finds him and his younger brother Duncan developing a new family-centered comedy.
The single-camera show is based on the brothers growing up in Oregon. Specifically, it would center on “two city families who buy the only store in a tiny rural community in Oregon,” reports Deadline. “In a world where everyone is overly stressed and reliant on technology, this group works together, without every modern convenience, to make a better life for their family.”
The script deal calls for the bros to write and co-executive produce. As of now, it doesn’t look like the Burrells will be in front of the camera.
