An idea spawned by Allison Miller, who co-stars in Matthew Perry’s new NBC sitcom Go On, has landed at ABC and is currently being developed into a comedy series starring Michael Bolton. Yes, that Michael Bolton.
Michael Bolton’s Daughter Is Destroying My Life is based on Kentucky-bred Miller’s real-life run-ins with celebrities upon her moving to Los Angeles, according to Deadline. The Grammy-winning crooner would play a fictionalized version of himself, who hires a young woman to run his social media campaigns and is simultaneously dealing with his hellion daughter he’s just taken in.
Tami Sagher, who has written and produced for MadTV, How I Met Your Mother and more, will write the script and will co-executive produce. It’s not known whether Miller would be part of the cast. If you’re curious about whether the hugely successful-yet-butt-of-many-jokes singer has sitcom chops, this recent guest spot on Two And A Half Men should give you a reference point.
For further evidence, you may remember Bolton’s appearance in The Lonely Island’s video for “Jack Sparrow.” Check it out below.
