Curb Your Enthusiasm star Jeff Garlin recently said there’s a “decent chance” for a ninth season of the hit HBO series. And although it wasn’t much to go on, he could’ve said that, no, there’s no chance and Larry David is done with it. So we were happy with the little hope Garlin provided.

On Saturday night, on the red carpet (it was actually blue) of Comedy Central’s Night of Too Many Stars (airing Oct. 21), their every-two-year benefit for autism awareness and education, I got the chance to ask Smoove (Leon on Curb) about the possibility. His answer quickly turned into a passionate (and hilarious) plea to David for at least one more season.

“Damn you, Larry…People of the world would love to see a new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Smoove tells Laughspin. “So we’re asking you, as fans of the show, and as fellow actors on your show — it’s you’re own damn show and you make you’re own damn decisions — but we want to know: When you coming back, Larry? Is it possible, Larry, you can put your rap career to the side and allow us to be entertainers again for a season nine, or possibly a season 10. We would love to do that, Larry David. Larry David! Are you coming back for a season nine?”

It’s a lot more fun, however, when you actually hear Smoove say it. So, I’ve dropped the audio below.

Whether Curb comes back or not, Smoove will be spending some quality time with his mentor. David is  currently working on a feature length ensemble flick for HBO called Clear History, and Smoove has been cast as a guy named Jaspar, who’s been dumped by his lady friend. Filming has already begun in Massachusetts.
