Due to the New York City metro area arrival of Hurricane Sandy, Louis C.K. has cancelled his shows tonight, the last of his Manhattan dates on his current tour. “I know that a lot of people are excited to come and they are fine with taking the chance,” C.K. says about the two shows scheduled at City Center, “but I really don’t want a pole to smash your face in because you saw some comedy.”
The good news, however, is the shows have already been rescheduled for March 2, and all 4,300 tickets for tonight will be honored on the new date. “If you can’t come on that night,” C.K. explains, “we will either do another show soon after that, or find another show for you in the area in the future. Or you still have the option to get a full refund for your ticket. If you already asked for a refund, we can reinstate your ticket if you want to go to one of those shows.”
Earlier today, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced that all public transportation systems would be closed by 7 pm. He also instated a mandatory evacuation to those city residents in low-lying areas. You can read C.K.’s full message here.
