Dan Harmon has found a network that will appreciate him for the creative, talented and innovative guy he is. As Community, the show he created and executive produced for three seasons, floats in limbo thanks to NBC’s absurd scheduling decisions, Harmon’s animated series Rick And Morty has found itself part of Cartoon Network’s celebrated Adult Swim brand, having been picked up to series today.

Co-created with actor, voice artist and producer Justin Roiland, the 30-minute show centers around the relationship between a grandfather (a brilliant inventor) and his grandson (not a brilliant inventor); it’s expected to premiere in 2014, according to Deadline. The animated pilot was greenlighted in May, just days before NBC announced that Harmon would no longer work as Community‘s showrunner.

In addition to Rick and Morty, Harmon has development deals with CBS and Fox.
