Katt Williams has another meltdown onstage amidst hecklers and then walks off (Video)

Last night wasn’t the first time comedian Katt Williams has melted down onstage and I’m positive it won’t be his last. The circumstances surrounding his latest outburst are all too familiar. Based on reports the show — part of his Ghetto National Convention tour — at the Wells Fargo Theatre in Denver started late, featured six — SIX! — opening comedians and when Williams took the stage he mumbled, took his shirt off and did push-ups. Obviously, the crowd (some of whom paid upwards of $150.00) to see Williams, was not pleased. The heckling began. And one guy from the audience actually jumping onstage. Apparently Williams felt he didn’t deserve the verbal assault and at one point decided he’d attempt to track down one of the hecklers in the crowd, which you can see in the video below. You’ll also see Williams leave the stage and promise everyone in attendance a refund.

After a series of legal transgressions and ill-fated stand-up performances over the better part of the last decade, it seemed Williams was in the midst of a slight comeback, having released in August his first stand-up special in four years. But just last month, Williams made headlines for allegedly pulling a gun on fellow comedian Faizon Love outside a Hollywood club. Williams was arrested and detained but eventually released with no charges filed. The show in Denver proves Williams is still not ready to work as a full-time comedian again, though he’s scheduled to hit San Diego, Oakland, Fresno, Sacramento, Seattle, Houston and New Orleans through Dec. 8. And Williams has another performance scheduled tonight at the Wells Fargo Theatre in Denver at 8 pm. Tickets are still available.

Not Ready for standup full time? Who are you to say that…he hasn’t stopped touring and people are buying tickets.

i’m someone who analyzes comedy every day. also, i’m someone with common sense. finally, i’m someone who knows that the above show was only about half full and there were still plenty of tickets left to the second show in Denver. he’s not exactly pulling in the numbers he used to. i’d have to imagine it’s because his fans are fed up with his attitude.

As someone who analyzes comedy everyday you should realize

        1) How difficult it is for someone to get that theater, even if it is half full. There is a laundry list of comedians who would kill to do that.
2)comedy is a painful medium, someone puts themselves out there to perform. Freak outs happen to every comedian. Its just a matter if its being filmed or not. The guy has been touring for a while, not in the public light, but he has been out there.
        3) this is show business. Its fickle. Fans come and go. It isn’t the attitude, its just how this stuff works.

I don’t mean to come off as an apologist for Katt Williams, he is troubled, but the fact remains he has a full schedule and although he make go nuts…there is a 95% chance you are going to be laughing by the end of the show. At the end of the day he is still funny, and thats what counts right?

Katt is a veteran comedian who has found success few other comedians have ever found. So, this analysis has to be relative to that. There’s no value to an analysis that compares Katt Williams to other comedians who can’t fill up a theater. And sure, all comedians freak out from time to time and it’s not caught on tape. But there are few comedians who freak out as much as Katt and in the manner he does. Combine that with the fact he’s constantly in trouble with the law and that makes for a guy who, in my opinion, should maybe take a break before he loses more fans or gets in serious trouble. Again, it’s just my opinion. I appreciate your comments, Bob.

Don’t buy tickets, just go to roughest part of town and watch crack heads for free. We didn’t hear one joke. He lied and promised our money back just so they didn’t kick his ass!
