Tomorrow night, Louis C.K. will find himself in a series of awkward situations live on television. He’s hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time ever, and, as he told Jimmy Fallon last night, he’s nervous. And he should be. As he says, learning lines and performing sketch comedy is not what he does for a living. “I’ve bombed onstage a thousand times as a stand-up, and that’s very educating,” C.K. says, adding that he screwed up every single line he had at this week’s first table read. And although the ever self-deprecating comedian has imagined a meeting between Lorne Michaels and his staff, wherein they simply cancel his hosting gig because of his lackluster rehearsals, in the end, the Louie creator says he has absolutely loved the experience.
In addition to his time at NBC this week, C.K. and Fallon chatted about Hurricane Sandy — “I live above the line of misery [in Manhattan],” C.K. says — a recent boat trip he took with Chris Rock and much more. Check out all three parts of the interview below!
