Louis C.K. will perform Staten Island benefit shows, giving away tickets to Hurricane Sandy victims

Never one to back away from a good deed opportunity, Louis C.K. is set to perform two shows on Nov. 17 to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy on Staten Island, arguably the hardest hit of those affected on the East Coast. And fittingly, C.K. will do the shows on the island at the St. George Theatre, which is where C.K. performed during last year’s New York Comedy Festival.

To raise the most money possible while simultaneously honoring the victims, we hear there’s an interesting ticketing strategy afoot. The first 250 tickets will be auctioned off to the highest bidders; the next 500 tickets will be simply given away to Hurricane victims; the next 500 tickets will go for $90 and the last 500 will sell for $45. All of the ticket money will go to the Staten Island Hurricane Relief Fund.

As you would expect, tickets will be available exclusively on LouisCK.net. We’ll let you know as soon as they go on sale.
