Gilbert Gottfried wants to motivate people to laugh off the pounds this winter! The former Saturday Night Live cast member, best known for his stand-out performances on the Comedy Central Roasts and in Paul Provenza’s documentary, The Aristocrats, is the latest stand-up star to take his talents to Broadway (well, off-Broadway…but 72nd St. is pretty close!).

The Diet Show is a new theater show about the comedies and tragedies of weight loss– from hysterical and heartfelt monologues to crowd-pleasing food jingles. The cast includes past winners from the hit ABC show, The Biggest Loser, as well as Long Island comedian Key Fitz and plus-size model Krista Mays. Co-written by Gottfried with friends Sean Pomper and Karen Katz, the show features true life inspirational stories from cast members about the “Battle of the Bulge.”

The show begins on Nov. 20 at Stage 72 in New York City. Tickets can be purchased at BroadwaysGoingOnADiet.com. Tickets are $44– which includes a free seven-day pass to Anytime Fitness! While you’re waiting for your purchase confirmation to load, check out Gilbert being hysterical in an interview about The Diet Show on NBC:
